The Creative Arts of any community is the vehicle through which culture is transmitted, represented and preserved. The Power of One is an organization formed with the intention of representing all of the Creative Arts and associated fields. These disciplines include Musicians, Comedians, Spoken Word Artists, Journalists, Radio Personalities, Sound & Broadcast Engineers, Visual Artists, Photographers, Videographers, Dancers, Models, Actors, Playwrights, and Disc Jockeys to name a few.
The aim of The Power of One Organization is to provide access to oppertunities education and training for persons in their respective disciplines through workshops and conferences locally and abroad. We seek to facilitate the necessary structure for ensuring that all artisans have access to equitable opportunities in entertainment and culture related fields.
Acknowledging the need for an established Creative Arts and Media Industry, the mid-term goals of the Power of One includes the formation of a Bahamian Performing Rights Society, improvement in the efficiency of the legal representation of artist through Union channels, the creation of a balanced rating system that will normalize the performance fees that artists are paid and setting standards for the treatment of artists by prospective employers and promoters.
As one of the flagship countries for entertainment in the world, it is necessary that we stand as a unified body of artists to ensure that our needs are met as we continue to carry the mantle of ambassadorship for our country.
